A stop on your journey to rest, reflect, and reorient.

Sojourn Counselling
We’ve all heard the cliche that ‘life is a journey’. Its a cliche because… its true! In most stories the main characters usually make a temporary stop to rest, reflect, and reorient themselves for the unfinished journey ahead of them. This temporary stop on their journey is called a sojourn. Your story is no different.
Sojourn Counselling is a safe place for you to make a temporary stop along your journey to rest, reflect, and reorient yourself to the type of person you want to become.

Individual Therapy
Embark on a journey of reflection, where each session can be a meaningful stop along your path toward growth and healing. Like a sojourner pausing to reflect and recharge, therapy provides a safe space to explore your emotions, challenges, and dreams.
Whether its anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, or something else preventing you from thriving, Sojourn Counselling can be a safe stop for you to rest, reflect, and reorient yourself toward the person you want to become.
Individual therapy is for persons 13+.
Virtual and in-person sessions available.

Couples Therapy
Relationships are a journey, filled with moments of joy, challenges, and growth. Sometimes, the road can feel uncertain, and that is when taking a pause to reflect can make all the difference. As sojourners on this shared path, we’ll work together using tools from the Gottman Institute to help you and your partner navigate the stops along the way—rekindling fondness and admiration, building trust, and fostering healthy conflict.

Family Therapy
Every family’s journey is unique, filled with moments of connection, challenges, and growth. Sojourn Counselling family therapy services is designed to be a stop along your path where you are supported while you navigate obstacles, strengthen bonds, and find renewed direction as a family. Like sojourners taking time to rest and recalibrate, this is your opportunity to pause, reflect, and move forward together with greater understanding and harmony.
About Andrew
BA, MC, CCC, LCT-C
You did it! You made it this far down the web page! That means you are probably interested enough in Sojourn Counselling that you want to know just who is behind all this Sojourn Counselling stuff… It’s me! Andrew!
First a couple of important things about me to get out of the way. I’m a huge nerd that loves board games, Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, and everything in between. I also like to pretend I’m a canoeist and hiker. I base this fantasy on the idea that I would be doing more of those things if I wasn’t a father of four (yikes… I know). However, my beautiful wife of 17 years supports me by entertaining these fantasies.
• I have my Masters in Counselling.
• I’m a Licensed Counselling Therapist Candidate (LCT-C) through the College of Counselling Therapists of New Brunswick.
• I’m a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA)
• I’m trained in and draw upon the works of the Gottman Institute.
More importantly, along with these letters, I have 17+ years of experience helping youth and adults navigate their journeys in a variety of contexts.
Pulling from a variety of models such as CBT, ACT, and Narrative Therapy I provide counselling services for individuals 13+, couples, and families. I work with clients who experience anxiety, depression, grief, trauma, along with many other things that at times force us to stop and reflect before we continue in our journey.
My hope for you, whether it be at Sojourn Counselling or somewhere else, is that you can find a safe place to rest, reflect, and reorient yourself toward the type of person you want to be.

Initial Session and Meet Your Therapist
This initial session is important to make sure you and your therapist are a good fit; this is one of the most important factors for effective therapy. You’ll work with your therapist to establish your therapeutic goals, and your therapist will gather the information they need to ensure they have the appropriate competency to support you.

Work Toward Your Goals
After 1 or 2 sessions you’ll begin to work with your therapist on implementing actions toward your goals. Over time your therapist will check in with you to make sure you feel you are heading in the right direction.
